Smorgon Steel is Australia's largest manufacturer and market leader of hot rolled and hot forged, high carbon alloy steel grinding media used by metalliferous mines and processing plants, cement works, coal crushing plants. It is used to assist in the metalliferous extraction process for many metals such as gold, copper, lead, zinc, iron, nickel, tin and silver. International acceptance of Smorgon Steel grinding media is the outcome of years of manufacturing experience, combined with product development conducted in close consultation with our customers.

Today Smorgon Steel offers a comprehensive range of grinding media for wet and dry grinding, semi autogenous (SAG) and ball mills of all sizes, rod mills, vibrating mills and stirred mills and maitains an energetic focus on continual media development. Smorgon Steel pioneered the 700 BHN ball years ahead of its rivals and are currently undertaking major development of leading edge SAG mill balls.
